Every sofa bed mattress, sleeper sofa mattress, and replacement sofa mattress is sold with a carbon neutral mindset.
We performed an audit to balance our print in selling each of the following items; sofa mattresses, replacement sofa bed mattresses, sleeper sofa mattresses, bed sofa mattress, sleep sofa mattresses and RV sofa mattresses, in both memory foam and natural latex models. We also measured the print in manufacturing our high density foam, memory foam, compression foam, and natural latex foam.
What this means that we have obtained an offset to balance out any greenhouse emissions we create by running our sleep products website and back end bed manufacturing operations. We worked with TerraPass on doing an audit. They helped us measure exactly how much of a footprint we were putting into the atmosphere by running the SofaMattress.org website.
Armed with that knowledge, TerraPass has taken actions to offset our footprint by funding clean energy and other projects that reduce greenhouse gas emission. At the end of the day we are balanced out by a comparable amount of reductions for selling sofa bed replacement mattress pads.
Every Terra Pass project is conducted and verified according to a publically available offset standard such as the Voluntary Carbon Standard 2007.
